Studio Sargis transformed the tasting room and bar at Chattermark Distillery into a modern speakeasy with a sense of history and craft. Deep plum walls, warm industrial lighting, and patterned bar stools set a rich, atmospheric tone, while leather seating and vintage details create the feeling of a space collected and refined over time.

The name Chattermark—a radio call signal used to change channels—reflects owner John’s own shift from law to distilling. That spirit of reinvention runs through the design, where every element feels both discovered and deliberate. The result is a bar that invites guests to slow down, connect, and enjoy a setting that’s as layered and character-driven as the spirits it serves.

Layered seating and lighting create small, intimate moments within the open floor plan, giving guests a sense of privacy without disconnecting from the energy of the room.

Subtle elements of John’s aviation past surface throughout the space, while reclaimed stage lights illuminate the bar as the central stage of the experience.
