Studio Sargis was engaged to design a sensitive and cohesive expansion to a classic two-story Dutch Colonial residence. The program introduced a new living room, mudroom, second-floor bathroom, walk-in closet, and a vaulted-ceiling primary suite, as well as a screened-in, covered porch with skylights to extend the living experience into the landscape.

To accommodate the new volume while maintaining architectural integrity, one of the existing bedrooms was strategically reconfigured—enhancing circulation and allowing the addition to nest seamlessly within the original footprint. The new wing was sited along the driveway side and set back mid-massing, allowing the existing structure to discreetly veil the expansion from the street and preserve the home's traditional charm.
